The guide, in text

The building blocks

Amino acids link together into chains. Peptides are shorter chains; proteins are generally larger and more complex.

Signal → receptor → response

Some peptides bind matching receptors and influence a cell's activity. The response depends on the molecule, receptor, tissue and context.

Already part of biology

Insulin helps regulate blood glucose. GLP-1 is involved in glucose regulation and appetite signaling. Not every peptide acts in the same way.

Medicine is product-specific

A naturally occurring signal, an approved medicine and an investigational product are not interchangeable.

Mechanism is a beginning

A plausible mechanism does not establish clinical benefit, safe use or product quality. Human evidence and the exact product matter.
