The guide, in text

What was studied

Retatrutide activates GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. It remains investigational and is not FDA approved.

The phase 2 finding

In the 2023 obesity trial, heart-rate increases were dose-dependent, peaked at 24 weeks and declined afterward.

The timeline matters

The trial does not support a universal peak at 4–8 weeks or a promise of returning to baseline by six months.

What an average cannot tell you

Individual responses differ. Improvements in other markers do not establish that a heart-rate change is harmless or prove cardiovascular benefit.

Symptoms deserve attention

Discuss a persistent resting-heart-rate change with a clinician. Chest pain, fainting or severe breathlessness require urgent medical care. Do not adjust an investigational drug using this graphic.
